As required from Florida Statute 493.6303, to work as an unarmed security officer,

one must successfully complete a minimum of 42 hours of professional training at a school licensed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. A “Security Officer” is a person who,  performs security services. Security services include: bodyguard protection; guarding property; transporting prisoners; armored car services (G license Required for armored car); assisting in prevention of theft or unlawful taking of goods, wares and merchandise; and assisting in prevention of the misappropriation or concealment of goods, wares or merchandise, money, bonds, stocks,notes or other documents, papers, and articles of value or procurement of the return thereof.
